Over 20 years selling homes, farms, sites and commercial property across Roscommon, Athlone and the surrounding areas. It starts with a free, no-obligation valuation.
Selling your home is a big step, and we’re with you for every part of it, from the first valuation to handing over the keys.
We visit and give you a free appraisal and valuation of your home, commercial unit or site.
We put together a marketing package to suit your property and produce a professional brochure.
Once you approve it, your property goes out through both our offices, the local press and online for maximum exposure.
We handle viewings and offers and advise you on presenting your property, right through to closing.
A few of the homes we’ve sold or agreed in the last few months. Yours could be next.

I recently had an apartment to sell in the Athlone area… I found Aengus a pleasure to deal with. The service was extremely professional and most importantly he achieved the best possible price for the property. I would happily use Oates Auctioneers again in the future.
We recently sold our property with Oates Auctioneers. We found Aengus and staff very professional and efficient. Jackie was always available on the phone to answer any queries. The advertising of the property was of high quality, especially the video. The sale went through smoothly and very quickly.
We recently engaged Oates Auctioneers to sell a property. My point of contact was Brendan Naughton and I found him very professional and efficient at all times and always available to deal with any queries I had. The sale went through smoothly and I would have no hesitation in recommending Oates Auctioneers.
When we decided to sell our home we contacted a few estate agents but none gave us as much time and interest as Brendan and Aengus did, so we had complete confidence in them getting us what we thought our house was worth.
Tell us about your property and we’ll be in touch to arrange a visit.
We’re also registered to carry out valuations for banks and mortgage brokers, and for probate, insurance, family settlements and deed transfers. We’re qualified to carry out both Blue Book and Red Book valuations.
Selling your home is a big decision. A few things you can do now make the process easier.
Your solicitor will need several documents to prepare contracts for the sale. Make sure you can easily get to any planning permissions or building certificates for extensions or other changes to the property.
By law, every home for sale in Ireland needs a BER certificate. You can improve your rating by replacing an old gas or oil boiler with a heat pump, adding heating controls, stopping draughts or improving insulation.
Make sure your property tax is paid and up to date. When drafting contracts, your solicitor will need a property history report showing LPT has been paid for the year.
Keep colours neutral so buyers can picture the place in their own style, and declutter to show off the space: family photos, toiletries and other bits. Buyers often look in wardrobes, presses and the fridge to gauge storage, and the outside of your home matters just as much.
